- Meeting point: North Rd & University Ave intersection – Australian National University (ANU)
When: Sundays at 8am
Coffee: Handlebar Cafe, Stromlo Forest Park
Distance: Around 70kms, plus return after coffee
Ability: All welcome – there are usually 1-2 groups depending on numbers
Starting at ANU, group heads out (in one group to start with) towards Stromlo via Commonwealth Ave – Adelaide Ave – Cotter Road.
Meeting point 2: For the south siders, the bunch will pause at the corner of Cotter/Swallowtail around 8.35-8.40am. Depending on numbers and rider preferences the bunch will then split into at least two groups (fast/slower).
The bunches will then head down Cotter Rd to the Murrumbidgee, turning right onto Brindabella Rd and up Mt McDonald with a regroup at the gravel road just after the summit sign.
After regrouping, bunches will continue down Brindabella Rd to turn left at the end and head towards Condor Creek and the end of the bitumen to regroup again.
On the return, regroup after the last climb out of the valley then try and stay on to the paceline as it motors toward Uriarra Crossing (rolling regroup at the intersection of Brindabella/Uriarra Rds).
Continue on Uriarra Rd down to the crossing, before giving the Three Sisters a crack, regrouping at the top of Sister 3 before heading to Stromlo Forest Park and the Handlebar for a coffee.
Remember to carry enough essentials to be self-sufficient.
